“永遠の手の橋” ― 竹田光幸
手の橋、かつて山王橋は最も古く奈良時代から町の中心に掛けられた橋であった。その橋に４基の手像大理石彫刻はそれぞれ人間に大切な「人」「心」「愛」「夢」と名付けられた。手像は街の安全と発展、そして永遠の平和を祈願したシンボル彫刻となった。(旧)新湊市は古くは北前船の帆船で繁栄を築き上げたように手の大理石彫刻は普遍の「幸せをもたらす象徴」として刻まれた。
“hands of eternity” - Mitsuyuki Takeda
The Bridge of Hands, formerly Sanno Bridge, is the oldest bridge in the center of Shinminato City. The four hand sculptures one at each corner of the bridge are entitled “Man,” “Mind,” “Love” and “Dream.” The hand sculptures of this bridge are symbols of the city’s prayer for development, safety and eternal peace. Imizu City was built on the prosperity brought by the Kitamaebune, the shipping route that connected most of Japan from the 16th century. The four hand sculptures have become luck-bringing symbols. As the only “Bridge of Hands” in the world and sculpted from Italian marble, the hands are a prayer for the development of a new era. These “hands of eternity” are bringers of good fortune that will make this prayer come true.
「永遠的手」 ー 竹田光幸
手之橋，過去山王橋曾是新湊市中心最古老的一座橋。橋上四座手像彫刻分別被命名為「人」、「心」、「愛」、「夢」。這些手像彫刻象徵著對城市的發展與安全，以及永遠和平的祈求。射水市昔日曾因北前船帆船往來而盛極一時，手像彫刻則成為帶來幸福的象徵。全球唯一的手像之橋以義大利的大理石為材料，蘊含著對新時代發展的祈願。留存至今的「永遠的手」，成為心想事成的幸福象徵。
